Foundation For The Future
"There has to be a better way."
That was the idea driving Manny Negreiro and Brian Cook,
founders of Aloha. As they looked around themselves they saw a restaurant industry
which was struggling to embrace technology. They knew the answer was a Windows-based
point-of-sale touch screen solution.
Aloha Table Service was
developed in 1992 in conjunction with Metromedia, Inc., operators of Bennigan's, Steak
& Ale, Ponderosa and Bonanza steak houses. Designed to address the pressing
issues confronting restaurateurs in today's marketplace, Aloha TableService, with it's
100% Windows-based platform, quickly set the precedent for how a comprehensive
point-of-sale solution should perform. Soon after, Aloha QuickService
is announced, forever changing the way quick service restaurants operated. Through
customizable touch screens and reduced training time, employees become more productive
while learning to process transactions quickly and accurately.
By the end of 1995, Aloha had developed the largest
customer base of Windows-based installs in the world. As 1996 came to a close, Aloha
had grown a long list of successes, including the U.S. Air Force, Bennigan's, Steak &
Ale, Delaware North Companies (servicing major airports and sporting venues), DAKA
International, Black Eyed Pea, Madison Square Garden, Davidson Hotel Company and Landry's
Seafood. As 1997 came to a close, some of the notable quick service operations can
be added to the list: Burger King, Blimpie's and Grey Hound Bus terminals, to name a
few.
